Family owned and operated since 1981. Randy has a degree in music education from Millikin University and has extensive teaching experience, both in the band room and as a private teacher. He has served as a Band Director at Dwight High School, Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School for 8 years and he also has school board experience for 8 years at BBCHS.
He has played as a professional musician for over 30 years. He has been a public speaker and has given presentations on the value of music learning as a tool to lifelong learning.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, we do! We have independent private teachers that rent studio space from our company. To find out more information you should call 815-935-3222 and ask to speak to Dave King our lesson coordinator. Please leave your name, child's name & age, phone # and time to call.

Do you move piano's?

We do not provide this service at this time. However, it is very important that you contact a license, bonded, insured and certified moving company. Please consult your yellow pages under movers. Unless you have experience, Do Not attempt to move a piano by yourself or Do Not put it in the back of your truck. Physical and property damage are likely to occur.

Do you repair instruments?

Absolutely! We repair most instruments and offer a Free Estimate. That way you know "exactly" how much your repair will cost. After you approve the estimate we ask for payment up front and sometimes offer a loaner. We have two Certified Repair Tehcnicians, one for band instuments and the other for all other instruments. Please bring your instrument in for a Free Estimate. Ideally you should have your instrument inspected every six (6) months.

How long does it take to learn to play an instrument?

Wow, good question! It depends on several factors, like which instrument, how "willing" are you to practice daily, whether you have a private teacher, play in school programs, or if you are going it alone. I have witnessed young children learning to play a simple melody in 4-6 weeks. The older we get, the more patience is required. Bottom line is your "willingness" to set aside a time to play everyday and to help your child discover the fun in being able to express themselves through music.

Do you offer any other programs besides lessons?

Yes we do! We offer our King Music Loves Kids & "Music Play" For Little People. These programs provide an early childhood music education for children 6 mos. through 6 years. Our parent/child interactive classes meet once each week and are split up into appropriate age groups. Each class focuses on singing, movement & basic beat through various rhythm instruments. Lessons are planned to encourage & maintain appropriate development levels in each age group, as well as to foster a life long love of music.
